Kidney Stones

What is Kidney Stones?

Kidney stones form in the kidneys and are the most common type of urinary stone. They can vary in size and composition, including calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, uric acid, struvite, and cystine stones. Symptoms often include severe pain in the back or side, hematuria (blood in the urine), nausea, and vomiting. Small stones may pass through the urinary tract on their own, while larger stones may require medical intervention.
